Believers have gathered here since long ago for the Yakuyoke Kannon (to avoid bad luck), and since the main hall was constructed facing north toward Nagano City’s Zenkoji Temple, it came to be known as Kitamuki Kannon (north-facing Kannon). Jorakuji, the head temple of Kitamuki Kannon, is also worth seeing.
