Anrakuji (temple)

Along with Kenchoji in Kamakura, Anrakuji is one of the oldest Rinzai Zen Buddhist temples in Japan. Also, the three-storied pagoda located at the rear of the precincts is the only one in all of Japan with octagonal roofs, constructed in the style of a Chinese zen temple (Karayo style) of the Song dynasty, and it is designated a national treasure.
